The heartbreaking moment that left ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ fans in tears: A bittersweet farewell from Jeremy Clarkson!

The presenter was consoled by his girlfriend Lisa Hogan during the heartbreaking moment in the new series of the Amazon Prime show

Jeremy Clarkson broke down in tears as he was forced to give away all of his pigs at Diddly Squat Farm.

The former Top Gear star, 66, couldn’t hold back the emotion in the latest episode of his new Amazon Prime series of Clarkson’s Farm, which dropped on Wednesday.

In the latest catastrophe to hit his Oxfordshire farm, the TV presenter had to bid farewell to his pigs because they weren’t making him any money.

His butcher revealed his particular breed of pig could only produce sausages due to how much fat there was around the meat – meaning there were not financially viable.

Clarkson therefore had to get rid of them all, with most of the swine being sent to the slaughterhouse.

“I love the pigs,” he said.

“I’ve just been delighted with every day I’m down there, they make my heart sing I’m so happy with them but we’re running a business here and they make no financial sense at all.”

The former Grand Tour star fought back tears as he said goodbye to them, including one of the mother pigs from the first batch he’d bought three years before.

“It’s still f***ing sad,” he tearfully told farm manager Kaleb Cooper.

A small comfort was that Clarkson’s two original mother pigs, Clumsy and Swizz, were sent to live on a child-friendly farm rather than a slaughterhouse.

“The one bit of good news in this whole sad saga is that these two had at least been saved from the slaughterhouse,” he told his girlfriend, Lisa Hogan.

“They’re going off to a farm that’s like a school so children go, ‘These are pigs.’

“I couldn’t really have handled it if they’d gone off to be eaten. They’ve had four batches of piglets.”

He went over to pet one of the pigs during a heartwrenching moment, saying quietly to her: “Good girl.”

As the pigs were driven off, he covered his face with both hands and started crying, prompting Hogan to wrap her arms around him and reassure him that he gave them a “good life”.

The episode ended with an emotional montage of the pigs’ time at Diddly Squat, set to Yusuf’s song Father & Son.

This isn’t the only obstacle Clarkson has faced on his farm, as he previously battled an outbreak of tuberculosis among his herd of cattle.

He revealed last summer that the farm had “gone down” with bovine tuberculosis from a pregnant cow.

“It’s awful, it is awful. You have a test every six months on the cows and then you sort of become blasé, it’s a hypothetical threat,” he told Times Radio at the time.

“And then the vet looks up as he did yesterday lunchtime and said, ‘I’m really sorry this one’s failed’. So that means we’re now locked down and it’s just dreadful, absolutely dreadful.”

Elsewhere on the new series of Clarkson’s Farm, Clarkson was seen being rushed to the hospital.

He had a heart procedure in late 2024, getting a stent fitted to open up a blocked artery following concerning symptoms.

He told Cooper: “You’ve got three arteries that feed your heart to keep it pumping. My heart wasn’t getting any blood.”

The TV star previously said he was “days from death” before having emergency heart surgery to save his life. He was rushed to hospital after experiencing symptoms to including clamminess, chest tightness and pins and needles in his left arm.
