Jeremy Clarkson has blasted a Formula 1 star after he struggled to handle a tractor on Jeremy’s famous Diddly Squat Farm. Clarkson went on to mock him for his shoddy work, which he dubbed a “disastrous” visit.
Clarkson’s Farm has made its comeback on Prime Video with a deeply moving fifth series. And recent episodes have shown the realities of getting older, as Jeremy Clarkson wrestles with personal health issues alongside problematic equipment and animals.
In one of the new instalments of Clarkson’s Farm, Clarkson hosted a distinguished guest at the farm who was keen to perfect the skill of reversing a tractor. Formula One star Oscar Piastri decided to pay a visit to the farm, and was soon roped into the farm work.
Racecar star Oscar was given a personal lesson from farm manager Kaleb Cooper, who relished in showing him the ropes − despite having no idea who he actually was, according to the Express. But in hilarious scenes Piastri struggled with the difficult technique, leading Clarkson to quip that they’d be trapped there all night waiting for him to get it right.
Piastri made a memorable trip to Diddly Squat Farm back in 2024. While trying to get to grips with the farm equipment, he was relentlessly teased for spending a staggering 40 minutes trying to reverse a tractor.
When the Melbourne Grand Prix rolled around shortly afterwards, the young driver lost valuable time struggling to drive forwards out of the grass. He eventually managed to get moving again by reversing his McLaren clear.
“I tried to go forwards, and couldn’t,” he confessed to The Guardian. “Good thing I spent some time in the off-season trying to learn how to reverse a tractor on Jeremy Clarkson’s farm. I think it came in handy today.”
Piastri chronicled his visit in a TikTok video, which featured Clarkson informing viewers: “Behind me in that tractor, that is Oscar. We wanted to see if he could reverse that trailer into that slot in the barn.
“How long has he been doing it? About 40 minutes?”
Kaleb Cooper shot back with a jibe: “Yeah about 40 minutes now, I thought you said he was a driver?” This caused Clarkson to chuckle before he added: “Your tractor’s gonna run out of diesel.”
