Jeremy Clarkson reveals hilarious side effect after his Mounjaro weight loss success
TV personality Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about an unexpected and rather comical side effect of his recent weight loss journey — and, in true Clarkson fashion, he managed to turn it into a moment of self-deprecating humor that quickly had fans laughing online.

The 65-year-old star of Clarkson’s Farm, Top Gear, and The Grand Tour has been living a quieter life in recent years on his 1,000-acre farm in Chipping Norton, nestled in the picturesque Oxfordshire Cotswolds. While the countryside may have slowed him down a bit, Clarkson has also been making headlines for taking better care of his health.
Last year, Clarkson revealed that he had undergone emergency heart surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after experiencing chest pains — a wake-up call that prompted him to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Since then, the outspoken farmer-turned-broadcaster has embarked on a significant health overhaul, swapping his indulgent eating habits for a more balanced diet and incorporating medication to help with weight management.
Earlier this year, Clarkson proudly shared that he had lost two stone (approximately 28 pounds), crediting part of his progress to the weight-loss jab Mounjaro, a treatment that has gained attention for its effectiveness in reducing appetite.
However, as Clarkson recently revealed on social media, the new medication has brought with it a rather embarrassing — though undeniably funny — side effect.
Posting to his Twitter/X account, Clarkson shared his travel woes in classic tongue-in-cheek style, writing:
“Mounjaro problem I never saw coming.
At airports you’re made to remove your belt and then told to stand in the body scanner with your arms in the air.
So you can’t hold your trousers up.”
The witty confession immediately sparked laughter from fans, many of whom chimed in with their own relatable experiences or lighthearted advice. One follower jokingly suggested he “invest in braces,” while another added, “At least the scanner got a good look at your new figure!”

It’s not the first time Clarkson has found himself caught in a trouser-related predicament. During the National Television Awards, where Clarkson’s Farm scooped the award for Best Factual Entertainment Show, he suffered another wardrobe malfunction. Taking to the stage to accept the trophy, Clarkson quipped to the audience:
“I should explain — I’m on Mounjaro, my trousers are falling down.”
His partner, Lisa Hogan, came to the rescue, quite literally holding him up by the waistband as he delivered a brief but memorable acceptance speech. Clarkson laughed it off, adding,
“Lisa’s going to hold my trousers up while I make a very short speech.”
Fans praised the moment as quintessentially “Clarkson” — unfiltered, self-aware, and effortlessly funny.
Behind the humor, however, Clarkson’s health transformation has drawn admiration from many who have followed his career since his Top Gear days. Known for his sharp wit and larger-than-life personality, the presenter has been candid about the realities of aging and the effort it takes to make lasting changes.

These days, much of Clarkson’s energy is focused on running Diddly Squat Farm, which became the centerpiece of his hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm. The show has been widely praised for its honest — and often hilarious — portrayal of the trials and triumphs of rural life, from failed crops to unpredictable livestock.
And while the former motoring journalist might be shedding pounds, he certainly hasn’t lost his sense of humor. Whether he’s grappling with government red tape, runaway sheep, or now, falling trousers, Clarkson continues to prove that his greatest asset remains his ability to laugh — especially at himself.
