Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper Celebrate as Hawkstone Farmers Choir Secures Britain’s Got Talent Final Spot

Jeremy Clarkson’s excitement was on full display this weekend as the Hawkstone Farmers Choir he founded triumphed in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, earning a coveted spot in the show’s live final.

A celebratory video shared by Clarkson, filmed alongside farm partner Kaleb Cooper, shows the former Top Gear host punching the air in delight as hundreds of fans cheered around them. The footage was captured at Farm Fest, held at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, where Clarkson and Cooper joined the crowd to congratulate the choir on their emotional performance.

Earlier in the day, the choir performed live at the festival, and the enthusiastic audience joined in singing along, adding to the atmosphere of celebration. On social media, the choir expressed their gratitude, posting a reply to Clarkson’s video: “We just can’t believe it. Thank you all so much. Thank you for believing in us.”

The Hawkstone Farmers Choir began as part of an advertising campaign for Clarkson’s Hawkstone beer brand, featuring real farmers singing in promotional adverts. Its popularity, however, led the group to continue independently, with its members performing because they genuinely enjoyed the experience. Today, the choir is made up entirely of hardworking farmers and agricultural workers from across the UK, blending their daily lives with their love of music.

This weekend’s semi-final performance saw the group take the stage with a moving rendition of Bastille’s Pompeii. Their heartfelt delivery impressed both judges and the public, securing them enough votes to progress to the final round. With the win, the choir will now compete alongside acts such as Rafferty Coope and Fabian Fox in next week’s live final.

Choir member Ben Brooke noted that Clarkson may not appear on stage during the final, though his support remains unwavering. “I don’t think BGT will be his thing . . . but who knows? Maybe he’ll be in the audience. You never know,” he said. Meanwhile, singer Katryna Shell highlighted the importance of Clarkson’s encouragement, describing him as a genuinely interested and supportive figure. “He is exactly how he is on TV. He’s so nice. He’s genuinely interested in our journey,” said Shell, a mother of three.

The choir’s rise from a local advertisement campaign to national television success has captivated audiences, and they are now among the favourites to win Britain’s Got Talent. Victory could also secure them a coveted performance at the Royal Variety Performance for the King next year, marking a significant milestone for the singers and the farming community they represent.

As the choir prepares for the final, Clarkson and Cooper’s presence at Farm Fest serves as a reminder of the strong connection between farming, community, and music. Their continued support reinforces the unique story of ordinary farmers achieving extraordinary recognition on a national stage — a journey that began with an ad campaign and now has them competing for one of the country’s most prestigious talent accolades.

For fans of the show and supporters of UK agriculture, the Hawkstone Farmers Choir’s journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and the unexpected ways that creativity can flourish even in the most traditional corners of rural life
