Self-proclaimed ‘luckiest man’ Jeremy Clarkson breaks silence on major crisis and the future of his farm!
Jeremy Clarkson has shared good news with fans as he confirms his cancer is in remission.
He recently went public with his “aggressive” prostate cancer diagnosis in the emotional final episode of Clarkson’s Farm season 5, saying: “I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy, and it is cancer, and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early. I promise I’ll be fine.”
Now, in a new interview with the Sunday Times, Clarkson has announced he is officially in remission after follow-up testing two months ago showed no indication of cancer.
“I am without a doubt, officially, the world’s luckiest man,” he said.
“It was an aggressive type of cancer. It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble.”
The Clarkson’s Farm star also shared two messages with fans on Instagram yesterday, beginning the first in characteristically wry style: “Hello everyone. The more observant among you will have noticed that I’m not dead.
“And I’m not just not dead, I’m perfectly fine. My eyebrows in particular are looking very lustrous,” he continued.
“And the reason why I’m fine is because the doctors caught the prostate cancer early and they caught it early because I got tested.”
The presenter went on to urge men to get tested for prostate cancer.
“I know a lot of you will say I don’t want to be tested because it means someone will have to put their finger in me, but it’s just a blood test these days.
“And if you go to your doctor and he says well I’m not going to test you because you don’t have any symptoms, you’re not in a high-risk category, just lie. Just lie! Say you have got symptoms. Say you have to get up 32 times in the night for a wee.”
Clarkson said thousands of men die every year in the UK from prostate cancer, adding: “Don’t be one of them. Get tested.”
In a second clip posted on his Instagram page, the former Top Gear and The Grand Tour host announced Clarkson’s Farm would officially be returning for season 6 – and that it’s already in production.
“So, bit of a year,” he quipped. “But I am delighted to tell you season 6 of Clarkson’s Farm is currently being filmed, it’s in production. And that’s particularly good news for me because, well if you know you know. And if you don’t know, you need to watch season 5.”
