THE 10,000 OUNCE CHARGE: Parker Schnabel Unveils Four-Plant Strategy Amid Record Gold Prices

Yukon mining titan Parker Schnabel has officially shifted his 2026 operations into overdrive, deploying an unprecedented four-wash-plant arsenal in a bid to capture a staggering 10,000 ounces of gold before the winter freeze. With gold prices hitting historic highs, Schnabel is betting on a “$35 million season,” though early mechanical failures and the sheer logistical weight of the “Golden Mile” are testing the limits of his crew.

The Four-Plant Gamble

To reach the five-figure mark—a feat that would cement his legendary status in the Klondike—Schnabel has enacted a plan that sees 1,000 yards of pay dirt processed every hour. This massive throughput is distributed across four distinct operations:

  1. Roxan: Operating on leased ground at the Indian River.

  2. Wash Plant Bob: Sluicing the “Bridge Cut” at Dominion.

  3. Sluicifer: Recently relocated 800 feet to a fresh 15-acre section of the “Golden Mile.”

  4. Big Red: Schnabel’s veteran plant, resurrected and placed side-by-side with Sluicifer to double the firepower on the Dominion claims.

“We have to focus on sluicing and hit our 10,000 ounces this year,” Schnabel stated, citing the volatility of the current gold market. “The price is good right now, and nobody knows how long it will stay that way.”

Mechanical Mayhem at the Golden Mile

The ambitious plan nearly stalled minutes after the fourth plant, Big Red, was fired up. A main water line catastrophically ripped away, threatening to shut down the newly established “double plant” setup.

The crisis was averted by a “bush fix” from crew member Alex, who utilized old welding rods as makeshift safety pins to lock the high-pressure water handles in place. Despite the technical hiccup, the move allowed the crew to clear a blocked pre-wash and return to full production.

“It’s nice to have the mayhem contained to one place,” Schnabel remarked, viewing the side-by-side placement of Big Red and Sluicifer as a way to streamline his management of the massive site.

The Mid-Season Weigh-In: $2.3 Million Week

The results of the first multi-plant “gold weigh” suggest that Schnabel’s aggressive scaling is paying off. In a single week, the four plants combined for a haul of 669.85 ounces, valued at approximately $2.3 million.

The totals were bolstered by “chunky ground” at the Indian River, where Mitch’s crew recovered a significant number of nuggets. Even Big Red, which only ran for a little over 24 hours following its resurrection and repair, contributed a solid $200,000 to the weekly tally.

The Road to 10,000

As the season hits its halfway point, the Schnabel operation sits at a cumulative total of 4,921.5 ounces. While just shy of the literal 5,000-ounce midpoint, Schnabel remains confident. Much of the past week was consumed by moving plants and setting up new pads; with all four systems now “running full throttle,” the crew expects weekly totals to climb even higher.

“We’ve never ran four plants before,” Schnabel said, reflecting on the milestone. “Hopefully next week, they’ll spend more time running and less time getting moved.”

With the war chest growing by the millions each week, the focus now turns to equipment longevity. In the high-pressure environment of the Golden Mile, the difference between a record-breaking season and a mechanical disaster rests on a few “fancy welding rods” and the endurance of a tired crew.
