DROUGHT, DISEASE, AND DELIVERY: Everything You Need to Know About Clarkson’s Farm Season 5

Jeremy Clarkson has officially signaled the return of Clarkson’s Farm for its fifth season, tentatively scheduled to drop on Prime Video this May. The announcement comes at a bittersweet moment for Diddly Squat Farm, as the operation finally emerges from a grueling seven-month disease lockdown only to face fresh tragedies and weather-related shutdowns.

Confirmed by Clarkson on social media earlier this month, the upcoming season will follow the established spring release cycle. While Prime Video has yet to issue a definitive calendar date, the 65-year-old presenter indicated that “May” is the target, pending final scheduling from the streaming giant.

The “Worst Year Ever” at Diddly Squat

Season 5 is expected to be the most emotionally taxing chapter of the series to date. Footage captured throughout late 2025 and early 2026 documents what Clarkson has described as his “worst year ever,” headlined by a devastating outbreak of Bovine Tuberculosis (bTB).

The chronic respiratory disease forced a total lockdown of the 1,000-acre Cotswold holding, halting cattle movements and threatening the farm’s livestock. While Clarkson recently confirmed that the farm was declared “TB-free” this week, the victory was short-lived. Just as the lockdown lifted, the farm announced the loss of “Ben,” a fan-favorite donkey who had to be put down due to a severe case of laminitis.

Rain Stops Play for Season 6

The volatility of the British climate has not only impacted the farm’s bottom line but also the production of future episodes. While Season 5 is “in the can,” Clarkson revealed that filming for Season 6 has been temporarily suspended.

“It hasn’t stopped raining since the beginning of the year,” Clarkson wrote in a recent column. The persistent downpours have made planting impossible and left the fields too waterlogged for heavy camera equipment. This forced hiatus comes amid a rare moment of peace with local authorities; West Oxfordshire District Council recently granted permission for an overflow car park at Clarkson’s new pub, The Farmer’s Dog, signaling a potential “thaw” in his long-standing icy relationship with local planners.

Renovation Surprises

Fans planning a pilgrimage to the farm shop should note that the main Diddly Squat storefront is currently closed for “physical renovations” until March 25. A temporary shop has been established in the lambing barn to handle the influx of tourists, though staff have warned visitors that it won’t be the “full Diddly experience” until the main doors reopen later this week.

As Season 5 approaches, the series remains a critical window into the razor-thin margins of modern agriculture. For Clarkson, the show has transitioned from a comedic experiment into a vital financial lifeline, proving that even a “one-man blizzard of productivity” is no match for the unrelenting realities of the British soil.
