Global Trailer ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ Series 5 Reveals Jeremy Clarkson’s Life-Threatening Heart Scare

Amazon Prime Video has dropped the official global trailer for the highly anticipated fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm, confirming that the upcoming episodes will provide an intimate, raw look at Jeremy Clarkson’s sudden brush with mortality.

The dramatic footage, released on Monday, reveals that the cameras were rolling in late 2024 when the 66-year-old broadcaster was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where emergency surgeons fitted his heart with a stent to bypass heavily blocked coronary arteries. At the time, doctors warned the former Top Gear presenter that he was potentially just days away from a fatal cardiac event.

A Heart Without Fuel

The new trailer pulls back the curtain on the immediate, chaotic aftermath of the medical emergency. In one scene, a vulnerable Clarkson is shown confined to a hospital bed, hooked up to a complex web of electrocardiogram (ECG) wires monitoring his unstable vitals.

Upon returning to his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat estate in Chadlington, a visibly sobered Clarkson is filmed explaining the mechanics of the scare to his young farming manager and breakout co-star, Kaleb Cooper.

“You’ve got three arteries that feed your heart to keep it pumping,” Clarkson tells his agricultural sidekick. “My heart wasn’t getting any blood.”

Defying Doctors at Whitehall

Despite strict orders from medical professionals and streaming executives to rest his heart, Clarkson’s defiant streak remains a central pillar of the upcoming season. The trailer tracks his journey to London in November 2024, where he joined over 20,000 furious agricultural workers protesting the Chancellor’s controversial inheritance tax budget cuts.

“The doctor told me not to speak. Amazon’s told me not to speak,” Clarkson tells his meticulous land agent, Charlie Ireland, moments before defying both parties to deliver a blistering speech to the national media at the front lines of the Westminster rally.

Automation Failures and Biosecurity Heartbreak

Beyond the high-stakes personal drama, fans can expect the show’s signature mix of agricultural trial-and-error. The trailer teases Clarkson’s latest attempt to cut labor costs by introducing an autonomous, driverless tractor to the Cotswolds. The high-tech deployment immediately sparks an existential crisis for Cooper, who laments on camera that the machinery is “basically taking my job.”

Cooper’s panic is short-lived, however, as the expensive robotic unit promptly malfunctions and shuts down in the middle of a field. “That went well,” Cooper cracks.

The humor is sharply balanced by genuine tragedy later in the promotional reel, as local veterinary authorities officially place Diddly Squat under severe biosecurity restrictions. The storyline will chronicle the devastating fallout of a bovine tuberculosis (TB) outbreak on the property, which forced Clarkson to make the heartbreaking decision to cull the very first calf ever born at Diddly Squat while she was pregnant with twins.

With Series 5 scheduled to global premiere on June 3 on Prime Video, and a sixth season already deep into active production, the Diddly Squat empire shows no signs of slowing down—even if its owner’s heart briefly did.
