TRIPLE THREAT: SCHNABEL HITS $1.5M SEASON HIGH AS GOLD ROOM LOGISTICS REACH BREAKING POINT

Parker Schnabel’s ambitious “three-pronged attack” on the Yukon gold fields has officially paid off in the scales, but the logistical strain is forcing significant sacrifices within his crew. This week, Schnabel’s operation hammered out a season-best cleanup of 586 ounces, valued at nearly $1.5 million, though the victory came at the cost of stripping the field of its top talent to save a failing gold room.
The Gold Room Crisis
While the three wash plants—Big Red, Roxan, and Bob—were churning through record yardage, the bottleneck of the entire operation centered on a single man: gold cleaning guru Chris Doumitt. For decades, Doumitt has been the final gatekeeper of Schnabel’s gold, but the geographic spread of three plants in three different locations pushed the veteran to his physical limit.
“I can’t keep up,” Doumitt admitted in a candid confrontation with Schnabel. “I told Parker I would stay until it’s not fun anymore or I can’t do it. We’re getting very close to the ‘I can’t do it anymore’ part.”

The dilemma forced Schnabel to make a difficult tactical sacrifice. To keep the gold room from jamming up and halting the entire $100,000-a-day operation, Parker pulled Tatiana, one of his most elite heavy equipment operators, out of the field. The move left Foremen Mitch Blaschke and Tyson Lee short-handed on the excavators, but ensured the “Golden Ring” could keep up with the relentless pace of triple-plant production.
A Tale of Three Plants
The week’s weigh-in provided a stark look at the varying productivity across the Dominion and Indian River claims. While the total was historic, the individual plant performances showed that some ground is richer than others.
-
Big Red (Bridge Cut): The plant struggled to find its groove, contributing a modest 74.9 ounces. Despite the high gold prices, the crew expressed frustration at the low yield relative to the mechanical effort required.
-
Roxan (Dominion’s Long Cut): Performance surged at the long cut, with Roxan delivering a solid 207.4 ounces.
-
Bob (Kenan Stewart): The undisputed MVP of the week, “Bob” surpassed all expectations, weighing in at 303.7 ounces.
The combined total of 586 ounces nearly doubled Schnabel’s previous weekly best of 303 ounces, bringing the season total to a formidable 1,693.2 ounces.

The 10,000 Ounce Horizon
Despite the massive weekly haul, Schnabel remains focused on his looming 10,000-ounce seasonal goal. The current pace puts him in a “good place,” but only if “Big Red” can find the same pay dirt currently feeding Bob and Roxan.
“We’re putting a lot of miles on the trucks this year,” Schnabel noted during the weigh-in. “If Red gets in that groove, we’ll have a chance of getting caught up to where we should be.”
For now, the gamble of running three plants has proven financially sound, but with Tatiana moved to the gold room and Doumitt operating on “coffee and cigars,” the human machinery of the Schnabel empire is running as hot as the wash plants.
