Jeremy Clarkson’s sharp response leaves his opponent speechless: What’s going on at Diddly Squat Farm?
Jeremy Clarkson has blasted a councillor after they made a jibe over his Prime Video show, Clarkson’s Farm.
Mr Clarkson remarked: “Has anyone else noticed how much better Country File has got in recent years?
“Tonight’s show is proper. No stupid people hugging trees and humming. Just proper farming stuff.”
He then changed his mind when the subject of climate change was brought up and added: “No wait. They’ve brought climate change into it. As you were.”
This follow-up post garnered lots of reaction, with some people siding with the 65-year-old and others pointing to how his own farm suffers from adverse weather.
Cardiff councillor Dan De’Ath, who is a cabinet member for climate change, strategic planning and transport, took particular issue with Mr Clarkson’s statement.
He responded: “Every season of Clarkson’s Farm highlights how unprecedented rain, drought, or heat can cause massive problems.
“His own show reveals the real consequences of climate change. I guess it’s easy not to care, though, when you own a farm mainly as a tax dodge.”
The Welsh politician’s post racked up more than 24,000 likes in support, causing Mr Clarkson to return fire on Tuesday (March 11).
He replied: “God almighty. Someone elected you?
“Let’s hope that next time around, the good people of Wales cause you to not have a job anymore.”
